We were coincidentally in Copan at the same time as a different German couple (Christa and Sebastiaan) we'd met in Leon and a French couple we'd met in Utila, so we headed off together to the Mayan Ruins which makes this small town so famous. While we walked around admiring the ruins, the children who were there on a school trip seemed to find us tourists much more interesting than the stones on show and randomly asked us to be in their photos.
That night we met up again with the french couple and some other Utila friends at a restaurant where the waitresses balance the plates of food and drinks on their heads while serving the tables. For dessert we then went to a typical german brewery owned by a man from Munich who had got all the furniture made in Germany for the true 'gaststube' effect.
After 2 nights in the hostal called 'Blue Iguana' we left on a shuttle bus which took us to our next country, Guatemala, where we expect to spend more time than in Honduras.
